Previous Y-DNA testing
The Pierce - Northern (and British) DNA Project "Group 5" has three individuals, two claiming Abraham Pierce as their Most Distant Known Patrilineal Ancestor (MDKPA). FTDNA STR results indicate they fall under I1-M253.
NGS/WGS testing
One individual in the Project group (claiming William Pierce as his MDKPA, but a good STR match to the Abraham Pierce descendants) has taken the Big Y-700 test and his haplogroup falls under: I-DF29>Y2592>CTS6364>CTS10028>S6346>L22>Z2338>S25366>P109>S10891>FGC21732>FT2561>Y111458>BY35232>FT130766>FT162806>FT163442
