Paper trail
First Generation
Robert Mendum was born, presumably in England abt 1602 date, place and parentage currently unknown. He died Kittery, ME bet 1 May 1682 (will) and 16 May 1682 (inventory). He married twice, first by 1639 Mary ____ and second by 1658 widow Judith ____ (no ch.) By his first wife he had two children (Kittery): Sarah (c1647) and Jonathan (by 1650).
Second Generation
Jonathan Mendum was born Kittery by 1650[1] and died there abt 1693. He married Kittery 2 Mar 1672 Mary Barnes[2] and they had at least two children: Jonathan (c1673) and Dorothy (c1686).
Third Generation
Jonathan Mendum (II) was born Kittery abt 1673 and died there in May 1718. He married Kittery 20 May 1702 Sarah Downing and they had seven children: Patience, Robert, Mary, Alice, Dorothy, David and Joshua. It is currently unknown whether any of the sons were ever married.
DNA results
At the present time it is unknown whether Robert Mendum has any surviving patrilineal/Y-DNA descendants.
