===First Generation===
Clement Briggs deposed in 1638 about being a servant to a fellmonger (a dealer in hides/skins) at Southwark, Surrey (near London). He likely had just become of age (21 or so) when he came over on the ''Fortune.'' He died bef 23 Feb 1648/9 when an inventory of his estate was appraised. He married twice, first bef Mar 1630/1 Joane Allen then by 1640 Elizabeth -----. He had two children by his first wife: Thomas (1633) and Jonathan (1635). He had four more children by his second wife: David (1640 unm.), Clement (1642/3), Remember (c1645) and John (c1647).

===Second Generation===
Thomas Briggs was born Weymouth 14 Jun 1633 and died Taunton 1 Apr 1696. He married abt 1663 Ann ----- and they had five children: Daniel (1664/5), Thomas (1664/5), Samuel (c1667), Mary and Susannah.

Jonathan Briggs was born Weymouth 14 Jun 1635 and died Taunton abt 18 Nov 1690. He married Taunton about 1662 Experience and they had twelve children.

Clement Briggs was born Weymouth 1 Jan 1642 and died there 7 Nov 1669. He married about 1662 Hannah Packard and they had ''at least'': Clement.

Remember Briggs was born Weymouth about 1645 and died East Taunton 22 May 1696. He married Mary and they had ''at least'' two children: Samuel (1686) and Joseph (1693).
==DNA Results==
===Previous testing===
The [https://www.familytreedna.com/public/Briggs?iframe=ydna-results-overview Briggs DNA Project] lists one individual claiming they descend from Clement Briggs. There are other close STR matches grouped with this individual. While the Clement Briggs descendant only tested Y 37 STR, two individuals have tested Y 111 STRs. FTDNA predicts the family falls under I-M253. Plugging in the modal Y111 STR values into Nevgen haplogroup predictor gives a prediction of falling under subclades of: I-M253>DF29>Y2592>CTS6364>CTS10028>S6346>L22

===NGS/WGS testing===
NGS/WGS testing is needed to verify this prediction and refine the haplogroup.
